Judging by the amount of people coming into the shop over the last couple of days, this year’s event will sure to be a marvellous charity event with hopefully loads of money raised for good causes despite the “credit crunch”.

Good luck to everyone with their fundraising efforts!

2009 is off to a flying start!

January 5th, 2009

Everyone seems exhausted…from having a good time!

Fantastic!

Memories

So… Monday 5th January 2009 is probably going to be the most depressing day of the New Year as so many of us venture back to work on the M25 trawling through roadworks & traffic. For those pessimistic times, hold a thought for old Uncle Albert opening up his Christmas Day table present of a Basted Turkey Hat & wearing it for the entire dinner! Laugh to yourself & smile – It takes less effort than you’d imagine!

As you sit in the traffic on Monday morning, what better way to get through the the traffic than to Plan A Party!

Set a date, Think of a venue, Choose a theme & send out your invitations. It’s as simple as that!

This will give you, your friends & family something to look forward to…

Special Occasions

If you have any Birthdays or Anniversaries approaching, then why don’t you take a peek at our themed tableware? For anniversaries & milestone Birthdays, we have designated sections with balloons, decorations & tableware. These occasions only happen once in a lifetime, so make the most of the opportunity to celebrate!

Fancy Dress on a Budget

Now that Christmas & the New Year celebrations have emptied our wallets & purses, items such as Tutu Bottoms & Fairy Wings are fab! For just £13, you have an outfit! (Add leggings & spangle for warmth & comfort!)

For the guys, you can choose cowboy accessories that can be added to jeans & a checked shirt for as little as 99p and cowboy hats for just £2.09!

You will I’m sure enjoy the fact that you can get an outfit together for a tenner & still have money for beers!

WPC is another good one if you’re feeling the pinch. Prices start at 99p for a plastic squeaky truncheon & if your budget is more like £20, the cave girl / cave man costumes & accessories are always a winner!

Get out there & party – Feel good again! - On a Budget!

So Christmas is over for yet another year!

December 29th, 2008

Where did it go?

I can’t believe that we are approaching the New Year of 2009. In fact, we will already be into the start of 2009 in just 3 days time!

We’ve munched on Brussel Sprouts, excuse me & we’ve chomped on mince pies, so I’ve been thinking….what can we do to amuse ourselves for the next few days???

I never used to be “into” this fancy dress party lark, until I started working here.

I find myself laughing & joking with customers regularly about what or who they want to dress up as & when a customer comes in and asks to try on the whoopee cushion, it makes my job so worth while! ; )

So in the last five years, my attitude towards themed and fancy dress parties has changed dramatically!

We take life sooooo seriously! Just choose an excuse to laugh at yourself & others wearing the most ridiculous costumes, hats & wigs – It’s fabulous fun!

The other day I found myself taking home a sombrero & Mexican tash to cook my partner Fajitas for dinner! Well, why not?!

I had the best Luau / Hawaiian Party a couple of summers ago.

We were all in the garden with Inflatable drink coolers, balloons shaped as parrots, fish & palm trees. I bought the disposable helium canister to inflate some multi coloured latex balloons & mixed & matched the plain tableware for the food…it all looks fantastic. The Paper Lantern Garlands looked particularly good draped on the fence & the hanging swirl decs which I attached to the umbrella prongs were great!

Remember, you don’t need a garden to enjoy a Luau Party. With the help of Room Rolls & Scene Setters, you can magic yourselves into Paradise within minutes! It’s easy.

I think this year will be either a Western Themed party or a 70’s Disco for me.

Before I re-decorate my home in the Spring and when we are all suffering from the February Blues, I’ll buy room rolls for my hallway, hanging swirl decs for the ceilings plus door curtains for the doorways. Add a few nibbles, alcohol & friends & family & you can easily have a fun night!

Whatever you do this New Year’s Eve, have a wonderful time & just think…life’s too short to do nothing – Laugh & Smile at the good times ahead of you…

Wishing you all a Happy & Prosperous New Year.
