Where did it go?
I can’t believe that we are approaching the New Year of 2009. In fact, we will already be into the start of 2009 in just 3 days time!
We’ve munched on Brussel Sprouts, excuse me & we’ve chomped on mince pies, so I’ve been thinking….what can we do to amuse ourselves for the next few days???
I never used to be “into” this fancy dress party lark, until I started working here.
I find myself laughing & joking with customers regularly about what or who they want to dress up as & when a customer comes in and asks to try on the whoopee cushion, it makes my job so worth while! ; )
So in the last five years, my attitude towards themed and fancy dress parties has changed dramatically!
We take life sooooo seriously! Just choose an excuse to laugh at yourself & others wearing the most ridiculous costumes, hats & wigs – It’s fabulous fun!
The other day I found myself taking home a sombrero & Mexican tash to cook my partner Fajitas for dinner! Well, why not?!
I had the best Luau / Hawaiian Party a couple of summers ago.
We were all in the garden with Inflatable drink coolers, balloons shaped as parrots, fish & palm trees. I bought the disposable helium canister to inflate some multi coloured latex balloons & mixed & matched the plain tableware for the food…it all looks fantastic. The Paper Lantern Garlands looked particularly good draped on the fence & the hanging swirl decs which I attached to the umbrella prongs were great!
Remember, you don’t need a garden to enjoy a Luau Party. With the help of Room Rolls & Scene Setters, you can magic yourselves into Paradise within minutes! It’s easy.
I think this year will be either a Western Themed party or a 70’s Disco for me.
Before I re-decorate my home in the Spring and when we are all suffering from the February Blues, I’ll buy room rolls for my hallway, hanging swirl decs for the ceilings plus door curtains for the doorways. Add a few nibbles, alcohol & friends & family & you can easily have a fun night!
Whatever you do this New Year’s Eve, have a wonderful time & just think…life’s too short to do nothing – Laugh & Smile at the good times ahead of you…
Wishing you all a Happy & Prosperous New Year.
