Hawaii votes for Obama

The USA’s Presidential elections have filled the newspapers and news channels for months now, and finally, the American people have chosen their President – Barack Obama. On November 6th, he won the race for the White House to continue in the role for another four years. Honolulu-born Barack Obama managed to win 70.6% of the popular vote for the Democratic Party in Hawaii, compared to the Republican Mitt Romney who only secured 27.8 %. The election was a multi-billion dollar campaign, and with the help of his home state – Hawaii, Mr Obama kept the Democrats in power. This was an expected outcome considering Barack Obama’s Hawaiian roots. The people of Hawaii are overtly proud of their links with the President and many people held massive parties in honour of his re-election
